POW SWIM NEWS....
SUMMER 2025 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! It's getting close - Summer Swim is just around the corner. We are happy to say Alex Jevons is staying on as the Head Coach for the summer. We are in the process of hiring two assistant coaches. We are looking forward to a season full of fun and skill improvement. There are many extra events planned and some exciting pool activities, in addition to working on technique. Our first practice of the season will be May 2nd, running between approximately 4:15 and 6:30pm. Check-out the 2025 Summer page for full details about the summer schedule, practice times, and swim meet dates. If you want to use your fundraising to pay for your registration fee, please email [email protected] and we will let you know the amount of credit you have and issue you a coupon code. There are quite a few families who have existing credit. Registration space is limited, as we are limited by pool space, so we encourage you to register early before space fills up. We would like to emphasize that swimmers and families have the choice for how many practices they want to attend. We understand that some families will have other commitments and may not be able to come to practices but would still like to come and represent POW at meets and we welcome that enthusiasm! It is evident that a love for swimming is strong in our community, and we are committed to happily co-existing and supporting the growth of aquatic opportunities for all of our members. |

WHEN DOES THE POW SWIM CLUB RUN?
The POW Swim Club operates year-round for both competitive and non-competitive swimmers, focusing on skill development and fun for all. For those interested in competitive swimming, the main competitive season runs from May to August, during which swimmers can participate in competitions, culminating in the Regional Competition to qualify for Provincials.
In addition to the summer season, we offer winter training through our "Ready for Summer" program, designed to help athletes stay conditioned, develop new skills, and maintain progress. This program is aimed at getting youth ready for all summer water activities in the qathet Region, whether it’s swimming in the pool, ocean, lake, or river. POW Swim Club wants to ensure that swimmers are not only competitive but also safe in any body of water.
These off-season opportunities ensure swimmers are prepared for the competitive months and continue to grow year-round. Our year-round programming helps swimmers build a strong foundation, enabling them to perform at their best when it's time to race. Whether you’re focused on summer competition or prefer year-round skill-building, there’s a place for you at POW Swim Club!

Whether you’re a runner, soccer player, or involved in any other sport, swimming offers a low-impact, full-body workout that supports injury prevention and boosts performance.
Additionally, the club’s team-building activities and community spirit foster valuable life skills such as discipline, goal-setting, and time management, which are essential for success in any athletic pursuit.
