MINI-PUPS: ages 6 and under and new swimmers (4-6) BY ASSESSMENT. 0.5-2 hours a week. Primary focus is on fun and water safety, swimming 10-25 meters introducing all four strokes.
PUPS: ages 6-9, Div 1 (by assessment, can swimg 25meters). 2-3 hours a week. Intro to swimming, FUNdamentals. Primary focus on freestyle and backstroke fundamentals, as well as breaststroke and butterfly body position, breathing and kick.
DOLPHINS: ages 9-12, Div 2 & 3.
3-6 hours a week. Already have strong backstroke and freestyle fundamentals. An emphasis on all fundamentals of all four strokes, more sculling, race quality turns/dives, mastering the clock, goal setting/achievement.
JR. PORPOISES:ages 11-13 , Div 3 & 4. 5-9 hours. Training to be a swimmer with some fun! Mastered the fundamentals of all strokes and be ready for: longer distances, training for speed and the mental focus of competing and accomplishing personal goals. Maintaining fundamentals in a fatigued state, training to become fast, introduction to dryland training.
SR. PORPOISES: ages 14+ Div 4+, Advanced swimmers. 7-10 hours a week. Taking on longer distances, increased time commitment, more strenuous physical drills. Taking control of their independance and individual training, with long term goals. Focus on speed, strength, and fast turn/start speeds.
MASTERS: ages 19+, 2 hours a week. Focus on stroke development, speed, fitness and endurance. 25-1000 meters.
